“Why did I choose to complete a residency?” I pursued a PGY2 Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Residency to fulfill my desire to treat complex disease states, perform research evaluating novel therapies and technologies, and expand pharmaceutical care services for patients with cancer and rare, non-malignant conditions.

“Why Ohio State?” The progressive pharmacy practice model and diversity of preceptors at The James Cancer Hospital are attributes of the residency program that promote an accelerated and high-quality resident learning experience. Rotational experiences ensure adequate exposure to various diseases across inpatient and outpatient settings, research projects are coordinated with internationally recognized physicians, and opportunities to direct educational or quality improvement initiatives are abundant. Ultimately, residents are equipped to become experts in their area of interest and advance the profession of pharmacy on a broader level.
