“Why did I choose to complete a residency?”

I found that a community residency perfectly paired my love of teaching and my passion for patient care while providing me with countless opportunities to learn, network, and grow as a new pharmacist. Completing a residency enables me to receive a teaching certificate which will aid immensely in my goal to pursue a career in academia, while acquiring firsthand experience in caring for an underserved population and discerning the inner workings of a Charitable Pharmacy.

“Why Ohio State?”

I was largely drawn to Ohio State initially due to their outstanding reputation and large teaching component, both of which I felt would be extremely beneficial to my future. However, my rationale behind choosing OSU as my resident home was the sense of community which was actively portrayed through my interactions with residents, preceptors and faculty. I was in search of a strong support network as I embarked on what is known to be a challenging journey and that was exactly what I found at OSU.
