“Why did I choose to complete a residency?”

I decided to complete a residency because I wanted to gain more experience in ambulatory care settings. From shadowing and rotations, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in ambulatory care and that a residency would start me on this path. I was also excited about the opportunities for developing my research and teaching abilities and the overall professional growth that would occur.

“Why Ohio State?”

Ohio State stood out to me at the residency showcase and throughout the whole interview process. All of the residents and preceptors I met were passionate about teaching, advocacy, and patient care. The opportunity to focus my experience in an ambulatory care setting as a PGY-1 was important to me, and the innovative practice model at the General Internal Medicine Clinics stood out to me. I was drawn to the longitudinal opportunities here as well as the wide variety of electives offered by the Medical Center. The opportunity to become a Buckeye was also very exciting. Go Bucks!
