“Why did I choose to complete a residency?”
I chose to complete a residency to further build upon my clinical knowledge and strengthen my confidence in providing optimal patient centered care. Additionally, I chose to pursue a PGY2 ambulatory care residency in order to continue developing into a well-rounded practitioner and gain the training and experiences to succeed as a clinical pharmacist in a primary care setting. By completing a residency, I am challenging myself and building upon my leadership skills in order to ensure that I am practicing at the top of my license and becoming a leader for the profession of pharmacy.
“Why Ohio State?”
I was originally drawn to Ohio State because of the people. There is a large network of preceptors and mentors that form a community in which I could thrive in, thus providing me with the skills necessary to grow and learn. As a previous OSU PGY1 community care resident, I found that the opportunities were endless and couldn’t imagine completing a PGY2 anywhere else! The ambulatory care residency is unique in the fact that it has a large interprofessional, teaching, and precepting focus, all of which are important to me. Ohio State is full of change agents and I am truly grateful to be a part of this great legacy!
