Why did I choose to complete a residency?

Early into pharmacy school I became interested in infectious diseases and recognized the need to complete a residency that would provide the opportunity to grow clinically and professionally. My PGY-1 program provided an excellent environment where I focused on becoming a general practitioner. However, by completing a PGY-2 in Infectious Diseases I will further explore my interests and enhance my clinical skills necessary for a successful career as an Infectious Disease Clinical Pharmacist.

Why Ohio State?

The Ohio State’s Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency provides outstanding opportunities for consult pharmacy in a range of patient populations. It offers a variety of rotations such as antimicrobial stewardship, microbiology, additional electives, and learning opportunities. I was also impressed by my future co-workers and mentors. They are passionate about patient care, encouraging of innovative therapies, and are truly invested in developing my skills.
