Why did I choose to complete a residency?

Since starting pharmacy school, I knew I wanted to work directly with physicians. I also wanted a career where I was continuously learning and would never get bored. Completing a residency will allow me to directly work with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to improve patient care. Completing a residency also allows me to precept students and residents in the future.

Why Ohio State?

The Ohio State Comprehensive Transplant Center has grown tremendously is the past 10 years. They are now one of the leading programs in the number of transplants performed each year. I chose Ohio State because I wanted to have experience in Kidney, Liver, Pancreas, Heart and Lung Transplant. The pharmacist is involved in patient selection prior to transplant, inpatient care immediately post-transplant, and follow-up in outpatient clinics. The entire institution is extremely pharmacy friendly  and appreciates having a pharmacist as an integral part of their team. I know that the training and experiences I will receive here will prepare me for any future career in solid organ transplant.
