Dr. Beatty is Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at The Ohio State University, College of Pharmacy. Dr. Beatty received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University and then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with Emphasis in Community Care at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. After working for an independent community pharmacy for one year, he returned to OSU to join the faculty. He currently lectures in the therapeutics sequence and coordinates the Capstone course at OSU. Additionally, he practices at the OSU General Internal Medicine clinics, where he combines patient care services with experiential teaching and clinical research at the NCQA tier 3 patient-centered medical home. The practice is the primary outpatient site for the OSU Internal Medicine residency program and also the primary site for PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residents. Dr. Beatty has helped initiate a multi-disciplinary diabetes clinic and polypharmacy clinic, population management studies, a transitional care management program, and chronic care management services at the site. Through each initiative, he is constantly trying to find ways to justify involvement and/or receive reimbursement for pharmacist activities.
