“Why did I choose to complete a residency?”
I chose to pursue a second year of residency because I have a passion for palliative care and pain management, and a year of residency focusing in these fields will provide the best training for me to become a well-rounded clinician. I am looking forward to becoming a leader in this specialty and advocating for my profession throughout this year of residency and beyond. I know this could only become possible by completing a PGY2 and this year will set a solid foundation for my future.
“Why Ohio State?”
It was obvious that Ohio State was a perfect fit for me. The Pain Management and Palliative Care program is robust, with a focus on palliative care and a unique hospice component that fit my desire to care for end-of-life patients in my PGY2 year. It was obvious in my interview that the preceptors of my program would treat me as a colleague, focusing on my development as a learner, but also giving me the autonomy to develop my own practice. They are very personable, helpful, and simply a fun gang to be around! The opportunities and learning experiences provided by Ohio State are unmatchable. I am so proud to be a Buckeye!
